Organization
“Now there are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.” I Corinthians 12:4-6
The Presbyterian Church is organized by committees and commissions.
- The Elder Board (the Session) is made up of twelve elected officers
who serve three year terms. The Elders in the Presbyterian Church are
responsible for the spiritual nurture of the congregation.
- The Board of Deacons is also made up of twelve elected officers serving
a three year term. The Deacons in our Church are responsible for the hands-on
care of the congregation and the broader community.
Elders and Deacons and members at large may serve on one of five commissions. - Properties – Oversees the upkeep and maintenance of the physical church
building and grounds.
- Education – Provides for the spiritual care and nurture of the congregation
through programs and classes.
- Membership/Worship – Coordinates the worship services, develops fellowship
opportunities for members to connect, and promotes the church within the
community.
- Mission – Outreach from our church into the community and the world.
- Administration – Maintains the financial wellbeing of the church, oversight
of church personnel, and promotes stewardship within the life of the congregation.
Committees within the church include:
- Worship Planning Committee – plans the weekly services
- Decorating Committee – embellishes the church building
- Sharenet – outreaches to visitors, new members and shut ins
